Eugene Godwin
Eugene was born in Birmingham, AL to a military mother. His mother passed away when he was eight years old due to cancer. Eugene was adopted into a family with his two brothers and sister. Within that family he has five brothers, and three sisters, who are all adopted. Eugene accepted the Lord right after his ninth birthday.
Eugene began his mission trip experience in 1995 when he went with his grandpa to Mexico to help construct a church building. He went the following year as well. In 1997, during a youth convention known as, “Acquire the Fire”, he re-dedicated his life to the L-rd. In 1999 Eugene went on his first mission trip with Teen Missions to Brazil to construct a floating church, as well as several other projects. In 2000 he was an assistant leader on a team to Lebanon to help run a national Boot Camp. It was there where G-d really grabbed his heart for the middle east region. In 2001 Eugene felt called to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM. He did his schooling in Richmond, VA, and did his outreach in Türkiye and Israel. In 2003 He went back to Israel for a month to help a missionary there that he had met the previous year.
Due to a dream Eugene had back in 1998, he felt called to join the Navy. So, in 2005 he enlisted in the US Navy. He remained on active duty until 2013. After that he got out of the Navy and began leading teams: 2014 Australia; 2015 Vanuatu; 2017 Tanzania; 2018 Malawi; 2019 Kenya; 2021 Idaho; 2022 India; 2023 Iceland, and 2024 Brazil where G-d laid it on his heart to join staff with Teen Missions.
“I want to serve the L-rd with so much passion,
with so much desire; that my relationship with
Him will far outreach anything contagious”.
