Confirmed Flights for Belem
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21 NIV)
Today began with a delicious breakfast followed by personal devos and library reading. Afterwards, the president of the church, Caldas, who was 30 years with the fire department and now teaches First Aid and CPR, offered to teach our team. It was a very involved class as they were being taught in Portuguese. This class was followed by lunch, then the team practiced their presentation for Sunday church services. They’ll have two opportunities to share on Sunday.
This afternoon we did our Sermon on the Mount Bible class, followed by a snack time given by the church congregation that’s hosting us. We had a special experience happen to one of our guys, Nico. His boots have been coming apart, and we were planning to glue them tonight. Out of the blue, the host president took his personal boots off and gave them to Nico, then went to his car and grabbed a pair of tennis shoes to put back on for himself. It was definitely a humbling experience. We have truly seen this church body be the hands and feet of Jesus!
This evening, Lucas led our group devotions and we had a time of singing and prayer.
Brant, our head leader, went to the airport to work on our flights Saturday evening with the help of a Christian, Brazilian travel agent whom we never met, but was led to work out our flights to Belem. We now have two confirmed flights for Tuesday morning/mid day to get our team there. Praise the Lord! It’s all in His timing!
So we look forward to what the Lord has in store for us on Sunday. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers.
